I own a Charles Daly .22 bolt action rifle that I bought new in 2007 but never fired until recently. The rifle is made in Yugoslavia and I believe the company is now making the same rifle for Remington. I believe their name is Zastava.
I have a major problem with the five round magazine not aligning itself with the bolt properly, which causes stovepipes and even having the mag fall completely out of the rifle.
A local gunsmith said that this is not an unusual problem with these rifles and told me that Daly has a lifetime warranty and will pay shipping both ways, as well.
Problem is that Charles Daly seems to have gone out of business. Has anybody heard if anybody has picked up the Dally line and is honoring the lifetime warranty?
Oddly, when I remove the stock from the rifle, the magazine locks firmly in place. I would rather have the factory do the proper repairs before attempting to do them myself or to pay a gunsmith to do the same.
