I can't seem to catch who it is that is responsible for the ads, but I keep hearing a radio ad that claims having a firearm in your house triples your risk of suicide.

They offer no statistics, no correlation, no rhyme or reason for the statement, yet present it as evident fact.
Probably Moms Needing Some Action or another Bloomberg group.

And riding in a car increases your chance of being killed in an auto accident. So?
But they make it sound like just owning a gun makes you more likely to shoot yourself intentionally.
The car analogy would be the act of owning a vehicle would make you're more likely to drive it off a cliff, or into a tree...

    Neither makes any sense.
Owning a pen doesn't make you write bad words.

Speaking of Bad Words, has anyone seen this?
    Absolutely hilarious.

According to the CDC, these are the risk factors:

These personal factors contribute to risk:

    • Previous suicide attempt
    • History of depression and other mental illnesses
    • Serious illness such as chronic pain
    • Criminal/legal problems
    • Job/financial problems or loss
    • Impulsive or aggressive tendencies
    • Substance use
    • Current or prior history of adverse childhood experiences
    • Sense of hopelessness
    • Violence victimization and/or perpetration
I do not see gun ownership in that list.

Of course the CDC are the people who funded covid and bungled the response.

Just out of logic and reasoning, I can see where someone that was going to off themselves would pick a quick and easy method, but the method is not the cause. A person who wants to live doesn't pick up a firearm and think, "wow, I wonder if shooting myself in the head would really end my life".

I beleive liberalism increases risk of suicide stupidity.

I cant look at a Liberal over 40 and think "Arent you a bit old for believing these fairy tales? A smart person would have figured out thats not how the world works by now."

You know, like the old saying "if you arent a liberal when you are young, you dont have a heart. If you arent a conservative when you are older, you dont have a brain." Trouble is too many people lack the critical thinking skills to become a conservative (or at least somewhere in the middle) as they age.

If you don't own a knife, you're less likely to cut a steak. If you don't own a car, you're less likely to drive. If you don't have windows, you're less likely to look outside. Their statement is possibly true but also moronic. If you want to die and don't have a gun, you'll figure a way.

If your parents never had children, chances are you won't either.

I can't remember the sources for sure, however I have read & heard from multiple outlets that those that identify themselves as liberals are much more inclined to have mental illness. I have seen this personally as well.

Not making light of this at all, it is an issue. When liberalism / mental illness is embraced it seems to go down a rabbit hole that has no bottom in a death spiral for many who embrace it.
