:) ok, I've been attacked a few times by Republicans, accusing me of being a Liberal.
It isn't due to what I am saying in political threads so much, but more so in non-political ones, where someone will disagree with something I say and accuse me of being a Liberal, simply because that is part of my INGO name. :):

If you don't know what a Classic Liberal is, watch this short film...it explains it quite simple.

    thanks

Just because the leftwing freaks hide their beliefs behind cute words does not take away from what a true liberal is. Basically a classic liberal is a modern libertarian.

Just look up what a liberal as defined in the dictionary. That is not what a leftwinger, ie progressive, is.

Classical liberalism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Classical liberalism is a political ideology that advocates limited government, constitutionalism, rule of law, due process, individual liberties including freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly, and free markets.[1][2]
Classical liberalism developed in the 19th century in Europe and the United States. Although classical liberalism built on ideas that had already developed by the end of the 18th century, it advocated a specific kind of society, government and public policy as a response to the Industrial Revolution and urbanization.[3] Notable individuals whose ideas have contributed to classical liberalism include John Locke[4], Jean-Baptiste Say, Thomas Malthus and David Ricardo. It drew on the economics of Adam Smith and on a belief in natural law[5], utilitarianism[6], and progress.[7]
There was a revival of interest in classical liberalism in the 20th century led by Ludwig von Mises, Friedrich Hayek and Milton Friedman.[8] Some call the modern development of classical liberalism "neo-classical liberalism," which argued for government to be as small as possible in order to allow the exercise of individual freedom, while some refer to all liberalism before the 20th century as classical liberalism.[9]
The term classical liberalism was applied in retrospect to distinguish earlier 19th-century liberalism from the newer social liberalism.[10]
Libertarianism has been used in modern times as a substitute for the phrase "neo-classical liberalism", leading to some confusion. The identification of libertarianism with neo-classical liberalism primarily occurs in the United States,[11] where some conservatives and right-libertarians use the term classical liberalism to describe their belief in the primacy of economic freedom and minimal government.[12][13][14]

Don't let it get you down. It's just the go to mantra of many in the so called "conservative" camp. They've been indoctrinated with the word by numerous talk radio talking heads and it's stuck in their brains.

This link is a better one for your video.

If you don't like Romney, you have to be an Obama loving liberal. It's state law.

No, a lot of conservatives dislike Romney and do not trust him either. But they do want to see Obama out.

Frankly if Obama wins there will not be elections in 2016. The left is planning to replace the constitution The Constitution in 2020 so the hopes of the libertarains to have so much chaos, due to people hating Obama more than they ever did Bush, by 2016 may backfire. We may end up with a dictatorship.

    ^That makes no sense.

That's the same nonsense we heard from the "left" when Bush was in office. It's the worst sort of conspiracy claptrap and detracts from the real issues that neither side of the Boot On Your Neck Party will address.

Beat me to it. I DISTINCTLY recall that same line coming from friends on the left as we went into the 2004 election.

I thought it was *****ing about status quo while defending status quo.

Figures. You're the only one who can make illogical assumptions about what people DO like based on what they don't like, and be right. Everybody else who does is it just being illogical.

    You're full of contradictions tonight.

I agree with the Libertarian doctrine 99% (Republican 75%, "Socialist" Democrats 15%). I see Libertarians as far to the right (a good thing) on certain political scales. However, I find that many Libertarians or Classic Liberals here spend most of their time attacking Republican candidates. I still haven't heard them say anything bad about Obama. So by attacking the moderate right wingers like Romney, you are shielding the Democrats so they can move the country further to the left. Yet you claim to be a Classic Liberal...I don't get it. I think that sums it up well.

Anyways Libertarianism and Capitalism are the only things that will save this country right now. Rather than voting for a Libertarian though, I recommend joining the Tea Party, and helping to move the Republicans further to the right from within, since this plan already has much more momentum than the Libertarian Party. That's my point of view and opinion.

The reason that libertarians and classic liberals only attack republicans is that they hope Obama wins. In their view, if Obama wins then he destroys the nation, creates chaos then the people will turn, finally, to the libertarians as saviors.

The problem is that we could end up with a dictator instead.
