I know this may create a great debate, but the other week I heard a man say .45 ACP was America's cartridge while I love the .45 and still carry it mostly. After a while I thought it over and saw a two others that may be called America's Cartridge. Let's see what others think or is there others out there that might be better. Here are my selections and why? .45 has served are military for over 100 years in 1911 to Thompsons , compition and police forces? .38 special , was used also by our military in combat along side the .45 most police forces up until the wonder nine's was the staple of all police forces until recently most CCW weapon were Snub nose .38's ..22 lr who doesn't or haven't owned one plinker, hunting and based off the first cartridge every developed the small .22 rim fire by S&W. So come on let's here your opinions and why?

They all serve one purpose or another.

Every caliber has had its day, to many to choose just one. ;)

If i had to choose id say the .357mag
