Daily is a G23 full of .40 S&W. Sometimes I'll carry a CZ in 9mm or a 1911 in .45 but I'm trying to keep to one main gun/caliber and the G23 is it. When I carry a CZ or a 1911, I find myself standing in front of the safe trying to decide which one and end up late for work. The Glock is easy. They are all just as fugly as the next, so I just grab the G23 and am on my way.

LW Commander in 38 Super or 45ACP, Browning HP in 9mm or Sig 228 in 9mm. Just depends on what I'm doing that day.

9mm always, using my Walther PPS lately but will most likely go back to my G19 when it comes back from the factory. Just picked up a G26 so it will of course go into the rotation.

From 1993 until 2004, I carried a GP100 (2 years) and an SP101 (9 years), both in .357 Mag. They are great revolvers and both were incredibly accurate! Then I switched to a .357 SIG in 2004....and carried that until 2009.

From 2009 until this past summer, I carrried 9mm...not that I am a big fan of 9mm for personal defense, but rather that I felt my wife and I should at least carry the same ammo / magazines...so I matched her Gen 2 Glock 19 buy purchasing a 9mm conversion barrel for my Gen 2 Glock 23. I carried +P+ 9mm ammo and she carried +P 9mm ammo because I prefered the hotter +P+ ammo and feel like I was splitting the difference between 'standard' 9mm PD ammo and my prefered .357 SIG ammo.

This past week, however, I broke down and purchased a Glock 36 in .45 acp. I've always been a big believer in 'bigger-is-better' when it came to up-close-n-personal...and I found one I liked for a price that I could afford. I've shot .45 acp in the past and have always liked it's performance...it's just been a matter of affordability and timing.

While the 9mm will work effectively for personal defense...everything I've read over the years favors the .45 acp when things are up close! Funny reality check...the last 3 persons our local larger city PD have shot all died from a single 9mm round. However, a guy in my neighborhood (drunk, of course) pulled and pointed a gun at our local small town PD, about 5 years ago, who then shot him twice (2x) with a .45 acp to the chest...and he lived! So, there's no perfect answer...go figure!!!

When I'm out in the woods I will still carry my 4" GP100...but when I'm in the concrete jungle, I will soon be carrying a .45!
