Racing on farm tracks instead of in an arena.

    Kickstarters on street bikes.

Taking turns on the ice cream crank.

Every kid having their own house, in a tree.

    Keeping your own bowling score.

Punched oil cans getting dumped over in the back seat.

Jacking up a car with the bumper.

Chrome bumpers that didn't need replaced if you hit another car.

Using an actual key to unlock your date's door and then seeing if she would reach over and unlock yours, or just sit there like a lump.

It occurs to me that there are probably a lot of things that we remember doing that the younger generation (in the 1st world) never will.

    - straightening old nails for reuse.

    - sharpening pencils before heading to accounting class.

    - repairing a toaster.

    - dial a telephone (with an actual dial).

    - order from a printed catalog.

I'm probably half your age and I've done 3/5 of these.

Remember those Shell No Pest Strips we hung in the garage that would literally kill any bugs in there... not sure what was in them. Probably not good for you, but man did they work.

I still want to get one at some point. Right now, I've got the antenna set in a compromise position to get both South Bend and Chicago (for a total of over 60 broadcast channels), but with fine adjustment, I could get a more reliable signal on a few channels that can be finicky.
