having to adjust the red-green-blue dials to fix the color
It occurs to me that there are probably a lot of things that we remember doing that the younger generation (in the 1st world) never will.
- straightening old nails for reuse.
- sharpening pencils before heading to accounting class.
- repairing a toaster.
- dial a telephone (with an actual dial).
- order from a printed catalog.
Roll down a car window... by actually cranking the handle to roll it down.
Manual transmissions.
Standing outside adjusting the TV antenna waiting for someone inside to yell instructions.
We was fancy.
Had a box on top of the TV to do that...
Using an actual key to unlock your date's door and then seeing if she would reach over and unlock yours, or just sit there like a lump.
If she reached over and unlocked your door, that was a positive.
