I purchased a USGI nylon sling from the Appleseed Project store. I am reluctant to drill holes in my new Ruger 10/22 to install the sling mounts. Does anybody do this locally? Any advice on how to do it correctly on my own? I have a drill and a vice.

Drill the holes. Screw in the swivel studs. Done. If you don't like the position of the holes, drill new holes and screw in the swivel studs. Done.

    Nothing here to agonize over.

It's not that hard to do. Measure and mark where you want the studs, drill pilot holes and then screw in the studs.
