I SOOOO look forward to a time when the rest of the world has figured out energy source replacements to oil. Then, with no oil $$ coming in, the middle eastern hotspots can burn themselves out and go back to camel herding. No more oil money for terrorism, no more need to get involved in their mess to protect oil production, and a MUCH more peaceful world... I just hope I live to see it all happen!

Well, the "mission", as it had been defined, actually had been accomplished, so, yeah. The mission was just retconned later. It's also interesting that there was, in fact, evidence of WMDs discovered, but don't expect Brian Williams to tell you about that. He's too wrapped up with helicopters.

Leave them alone to battle it out between themselves. It's been their way since the beginning of time. They keep themselves in check.
They're not greedy but want to control what they deem is theirs. Leave them alone so they can settle it and destroy their selves in the process.
We don't need their headaches. It will take a while and we can formulate new plans to stick our noses in where they don't belong.

What WMDs? Let's not be coy, everybody knows Bush was talking about nuclear material. The WMDs that were actually found, everybody know they had in the first place. So yeah, we never found what we were looking for in Iraq.

While agreeing with your main point, nuclear material wasn't all Bush was talking about. Nuclear material was certainly prominent, but it was only one leg of how we were sold on Iraq. Go back to Colin Powell's speech and it runs the NBC gamut of Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical. The biological component was sold as having mobile labs on semi trailers and on rail cars. Air delivery systems for their airplanes. Bunkers of chemical weapons.

What was found instead was decades old chemical weapons that were no longer functional munitions. They are dangerous, sure, but also common and easy to manufacture. If we've found mobile labs, a nuclear program close to success, whatever those high tolerance tubes were supposed to be being made into, etc. then I've missed it in the news. I'd welcome the chance to read anything that says we have.
