I am worn out by the weak sensitive types that claim to have voted for Trump but just love to tell you everything they find distasteful, perfectly mimicing the corporate media that is against America first. There are a bunch of you guys that all stand in a circle jerk saying “I voted for Trump because I like his policies, but he is so icky” like it is new that the elected types are whacked out.

There are issues that rise above the 2A, national debt, and illegal immigration, and that is saving the country itself, if we do not save the country itself those issues are are moot…
I am worn out on the other end of the spectrum by those condescending individuals who tell others to STFU and show some unwavering respect for all things DT. Like I said before. I will always show respect for DT by voting for his policies and those who try to suppress my other opinions can just step off.

Sure, there are a lot of issues to weigh besides the 2nd Amendment but as was pointed out a certain avid member used to always place the 2nd Amendment first and didn't take kindly to those that didn't. (Except DT)

So being able to recognize flaws in something or someone somehow makes someone a weak sensitive type?

So is it that you want your cake and eat it too? You want me to like the porn star ****er and not just vote for him, but to orgasm when I pull the lever?
No, I want you to stop virtue signaling about how reluctantly you voted for that horrible person, and how painful it is/was, and just admit that you're a pragmatist just like the rest of us

Or just pick up the reins of the Manus Lavus party

Nobody is buying the propaganda that you carefully consider every aspect of every position you take. You are just as biased toward your own pattern of beliefs as the next guy. Even that wouldn't be so bad if you didn't seem to feel the need to lecture us about just how unbiased you are. Maybe hide that light under a bushel once in a while

:nono: So opinions aren't allowed when you disagree with them?

Trash talk? Is Trump a god that no one may blaspheme? Why should I talk about Trump with respect? Has he earned a position of being above reproach? Has the porn star ****er earned my respect?

I liked several of his policies. Several I did not like. There is no perfect policy maker. But if you're incapable of discerning good from bad, you might think he is above reproach. Must continue to praise him.

I'm sorry. I'm not wired like that. Many things can be true at the same time. Trump can have a bad character. Trump can make some good policies. Trump can make some bad policies. And Trump may be the best choice available in November 2024. I hope there's a better choice. But if not, we do what we have to. That's all anyone's saying, but some of you don't seem to be capable of handling any criticism of Trump at all.
    1) You assert that Trump has not earned your respect and imply that he is not above reproach

    2) You then stipulate there are NO perfect policy makers - so why all the wanking about Trump's character issues. And it is just wanking without any proffered solution to the problem, perhaps in the form of recommending a politician who does meet your high standards. We'll wait

    3) It isn't that we can't handle the criticism as much as it is that the criticism is just a tedious rehash of the same old tired stuff. If I could, I would award you (and all the 'I voted libertarian' set) an INGO 'cleanest hands' merit badge if it would just help set the virtue signaling below 11

Support no specific solutions, just whinge about the problems. You have the makings of a great back-bencher

I'm still trying to wrap my head around "You need to STFU and show some respect..." What? You mean like, "kiss the ring?"

It's a worldview completely foreign to me. I don't understand having such undying, blind devotion to a person just because he's on my "side". Is Trump the golden calf? :dunno:

Anyway, yeah, I can't say I'm supporting Trump out of the box. I still like Desantis better. It's almost like Trump, but with some self-control. And no porn star ****ing as far as we know. But if that's who wins the nomination, he's better and more trustworthy, despite his lack of self control, than any Democrat.
I don't think you give sufficient credence to the level of resistance and outright sabotage that Trump prevailed against. DeSantis is operating in the same environment that Biden is in that he is at the top of an organization that controls just about all the statewide levers of power and is aligned with his goal. As such, he has a pretty free hand

That will not be replicated at the national level if he wins both the primary and the election. It would be nice if you would give some consideration to the idea that he may be less effective at delivering 'policies that you like' when he is swimming upstream. What's the over/under on being governor being sufficient to engender effective presidents?

I'll vote for the man who has already proven he can do it, not the long shot. I'll say it again, IMO DeSantis is the Scott Walker of his time

I voted for Trump both times and in the primaries because I was willing to gamble on an unknown rather than keep the same old stuff. He's not a populist at heart, he's a New York values real estate tycoon, in that respect his primary opponents were accurate. That said, his policies of America first appealed to me having spent years watching this country's wealth and position dissipated by leadership that only saw itself as players on a world stage and not as representative of Americans. I think his love of the attention helped him embrace populism and made the dc establishment fear him much like the cavaliers feared Cromwell. I've always felt that if he had won a second term, the dc establishment would have simply had him assassinated.

When you position yourself between powerful people and what they want, they get rid of you, the only difference in that game are the stakes.
I think Trump actually has an America-first mindset. Sure the love of attention probably had a large impact on him running. And populism isn’t necessarily the same thing America-first, but I think he’s always displayed that sort of mindset. But for sure I think he understood that populism would make the crowds cheer.

Got it. I get what you were going for. Basically, get onboard and admit that you voted as a pragmatist and drop all the virtue signaling for someone with flaws or wash your hands of the whole thing.

Some people can see reality for what it is. And admit the things that are true that go contrary to what they wish were true. It’s a lot easier to deny that reality and claim such people must be influenced by propaganda or whatever. But to those who see it, it only confirms that’s what’s happening.

I am always amazed at the length people will go to defend Trump. For example, when he says and does things clearly endangering the 2A, rather than collectively speak out, people would instead shift their opinions/views on it and claim you are some Biden supporter.

Trump is still a shifty NY liberal. The people who follow him blindly are weak. He is a proven loser...couldn't even beat Joe Biden. I don't want to see his name on my ballot ever again.

I guess if you're gonna vote for Trump and his policies then you need to stop bitching about his flaws or stop voting for him.

Populism made a lot of people cheer, folks who saw themselves as victims of the New World Order rather than beneficiaries of it. So many Americans who saw their way of life turned upside down by economic moves to mexico and china. They lost ground from George the first, through "I feel your pain" Clinton, and 16 years of Busbama. Those people were ready for something new, republican or democrat.

Not quite. Hopefully a bible verse won't trigger the usual suspects

    Matthew 27:24
    King James Version
24 When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it.

Pilate's belief was that washing his hands could absolve him of responsibility for what he allowed to happen and possibly could have prevented (disregarding for the moment whether something foreordained by God could actually be successfully prevented)

Its modern equivalent is voting for someone, perhaps a libertarian, who has no chance of winning, little chance of enacting many of the policies he/she espouses, and depriving a viable but less 'perfect' candidate a needed vote. Then feeling righteous because no matter what foul things happen to the country they feel they kept their own hands 'clean' and bear no responsibility for the consequences

using the same logic, why even bother speaking to members of congress about issues affecting them? If you voted for the person, they must be perfect too and no discussion is needed. As if voting for someone doesn't come down to a binary decision and attempting to work within that framework is somehow treacherous
