    This is a fantastic forum when you need to find folks to help you spend money :).
    The answer may come when I get my hands on the book mentioned previously, but am curious if it is typical to attempt tuning with mostly the stock gun parts (STI in this case) or to start out with pretty much all new hard parts.

    I just took a stock STI Trojan and had it rebuilt by AllenM with all EGW parts, a Koenig Low Mass Hammer, and Infinity/SVI trigger. I also had the slide tri-topped and added a Ed Brown magwell that was blended. I can meet up and let you shoot it. It will make you wanna spend $500 and upgrade your gun. My other 1911 is at AllenM's shop getting the exact same setup in it right now.
