I just hit the new posts and read the first or second page. Of course I check in more often that some people. I know some forums close threads when they think they think useful conversation is over, or someone says something they don't like. We don't want you going back and adding on to a conversation about what gun someone was looking at 10 years ago.

    I have a system.

    1) Look at my notifications and maybe look at posts in which I've been quoted.
    2) Go to Gen Pol and catch up.
    3) Go to Break Room and catch up
    4) Go to the classifieds and see if anything strikes my fancy.
    5) Scroll back to the top and check this:

Is it even possible to reduce the number of threads on this site. When I look at the current number of open threads approaching half a million, it is almost too daunting to even try to find out what thread updates since the last time I logged on. Being as old as I am, I may die before I find what I've missed, or who might have been deprived with the beauty of my wisdom. :)
Half a million and one now.

On mobile you also get the "what's new" lightning bolt next to the bell.

Mij, I actually replied to that 50 count post rule. I don't want a way to look at all the posts. I just want to see the ones I'm interested in and have posted replies to. Thank you.

There you go answers galore, helpful also, and a bit of humor as a side dish. What more could you ask for?

I recently got this I pad, a hand me down. I’ve been away from anything remotely close to a computer for over a decade. This is my only foray into anything resembling social media. I’ve been viewing other forums as I surf the www. I can and will say this is the only one I want to interact with. After reading others I wouldn’t talk/type to a single one. Some of the most disgusting behavior/speech I’ve ever witnessed.

Welp, good luck and hope your time here is enjoyable.

All this new fangled button clicking. When I was a wee lad here on INGO, we used to have to look for threads the old fashioned way, using the card catalog. And we had to walk uphill both ways in the snow (unless the INGO Bugatti was driving by, then you could occasionally get a lift!

Not with pants on you wouldn't

Cute. SARCASM when I'm seriously looking for help.
If you cant handle sarcasm, this site is DEFINITELY not for you.

Dont get me wrong. You are welcome here. But you gotta have thick skin and be willing to get ribbed a bit. If you cant, you'll be happier elsewhere I'm sure.

And the sarcasm isnt anything personal. So please dont take it that way.

    Wow.
No we don’t reduce the number of threads. Once the info is posted it stays here. Your request just does not make sense. There is no rule that you have to read them all. Heck the staff can’t even do that.
Relax. Pick topics you wish to read and go from there.
