They don’t even try to hide it folks. They are trying to get out ahead of anything else, and say that it was done to “protect democracy.”

1: Steer the narrative to the “protection” angle;

2: Incite MORE action from fed-up Americans to continue to drive the wedge between left and right - most likely resulting in violent action and ultimately resulting in further legislation.
