Yes, indeed. And the "hot bait" of the day isn't Root Beer Crankbaits, it's "Selective Libertarianism." Democrats and Liberals use it to good effect:

1) Fight tooth and nail against every actionable Libertarian concept in existence which threatens growth of the government.

2) When Conservatives make an argument you don't like on a social issue, but which is logically unassailable, try to cop the appearance of logical consistency in your opposition by adopting a seemingly-parallel view on a different social issue, which has no chance whatsoever of ever being implemented.
