I'm sorry to be the pessimist, but, umm, where are the support beams for the box-spring and mattress? Maybe I don't know enough about how furniture goes together, but it seems to me that your sleeping surface would fall right through.

Also, I have to say, that I've done a bit of wood working in my few years, and this is really beautiful.
