If current tax laws are not continued by mid-night 12-31-12, the current tax cuts will expire and go up. Add on Obamacare taxes as well as other taxes that go into effect January 1st, 2013, individual taxes can go up as much as 5% or more. Small businesses that file under the individual owen and earn over $200,000 will see a big tax increase.

Yes we can expect layoffs to increase. We can expect to see the value of American Life as we have in now to decrease more than it has since 2008.

Do some researh on the Fiscal Cliff: "The year-over-year changes for fiscal years 2012–2013 include a 19.63% increase in taxes and 0.25% reduction in spending."

If this does not care you, then you're not breathing.

    WHich product?

Here's an example: "AMD trims Austin workforce - 400 jobs slashed". Let's assume that by laying off 400 workers, AMD has reduced its capacity to produce processors-otherwise, it might have had 400 extra workers lying around not doing anything. Has demand for these processors decreased, or has AMD simply surrendered a portion of its marketshare to Intel by making itself unable to meet existing demand?

In case you haven't noticed, fewer and fewer people now have jobs. The ones that do are being bent over for much higher taxes and healthcare costs. That just might have an impact on demand.

Ok, so these reductions were good business.

Is this factual? Are more people unemployed now, than the day after Obama took office in 2008? :dunno:

    Unemployed or out of work?
There are definitely more people out of work.
Somehow, once a person gives up and quits looking for work the gov doesn't consider them unemployed anymore.
If you look up unemployment statistics you don't get the real picture.

yep more unemplyed now than when he took office. They cook the numbers but less people working means less people working. And we have not seen anything yet. And these reductions are not just "good business" they are "gasps of a drowning man" many of us fight everyday to keep our businesses open to feed our families and the families of our employees. When my company isnt making money I dont get paid libs dont get that concept. I take risk and work like a dog so that the gov can squash me like a bug, oh well........who was John Galt.
