Schools helped some by teaching kids that if the parent is telling you to do something you don't want to do, it is child abuse and just dial 911 to get help.

Taking away my kid's tablet as a punishment got me an investigation from CPS and threats to remove my children from this harmful household.

I think we had that too. That was for more widespread injuries like abrasions. The merthiolate was more for cuts.
