    I had a bag-o-gun once.

    Back in the '70s I bought a Colt 1911 Gold Cup. Not having a chance to go shooting for a week, I naturally completely disassembled it.

    The sear assembly had an extra spring and parts that are not in other versions and it all had to go back in as an assembly. I could put the assembly together but not hold them together and insert them into the frame. After several days of attempting the job, I finally put all the parts in a brown paper bag and hung my head in shame. I stalled for a few days not wanting to face a gunsmith with my disassembled unfired pistol when it finally dawned on me to make a slave pin. It was a few minute job with that pin.
