I did the boat thing for a while, it was old, like the guns I collect.
Amazing!!! Dad had a couple wood chris crafts. Classy.

I had one when i was 22. Bayliner capri 2150. Got all sorts of dirty looks at lake waswasee boat launch. Launching my cheap ugly boat with a rusty 1979 k20 into a lake surrounded with multi million dollar houses lol. It was fun but took me forever to sell the dang thing. If i buy another boat its going to be a nice bass boat.I did the boat thing for a while, it was old, like the guns I collect
I know this is in ahead of time, but when I go to put an optic on the Kidd .22, what would be good? I heard that I need a "rimfire optic" but otherwise I don't know what I need. I would like to get a good one, but I don't want it to cost more than the rifle. My first thought was a refurb from Allen, but I would know which I need to look for. Thoughts?
^^^This, This, This^^^Adjustable parallax down to 25 yards or less, some go to 10 yards which is even better...
No worries. It's minimal outlay for membership, even if you don't get to exercise it much. I haven't been a lot of late and fishing season will take some of my free time now. But I also cant stand having something in the safe I haven't shot yet.I'm not a member of MCF&G. Once the kiddos get a little bigger then maybe I need to join. I've heard good things about them!
A good friends Dad had an old wood boat with that same engine. I helped him restore the drive line.It was a learning experience maintaining old boats, just like old guns. The varnish and polish was time consuming, but it always looked good. The 327 Gray marine had an nice rumble to it, but parts were hard to find. Sold it with the house when I moved to the woods.

I dont remember the specifics of the drive. I did the engine for him. His son is a gearbox tech for Andretti racing. He handled that part.Warner velvet drive?

327 is merely a bore x stroke equation.I was surprised when I bought the boat that the 327 came from Continental motors as I thought GM and 327 just went together. A friend told me that AMC had a 327 and this was where they got the engine.

I may have to meetup with WTB and some of the other rimfire specialists around the area at some point. Shooting has mostly been a solitary hobby for me, but gathering some hands on wisdom on making little bitty holes in paper rather than my usual splattering steel with lead will be helpful I'm sure. I have an old Tasco spotting scope that hasn't seen the light of day for quite some time.
That said, it will be interesting to see how long I can sit at the bench vs needing to break out something red dot equipped and knock some paint off steel.
Nope. Year the league started. They had one prior that played through WWII but the exact years are unknown.
May have to get with you on that. Sounds like what I'm after. Some of the best times shooting in recent memory was meeting with 88 on the weekends the summer before last right before 8am. We'd get there, load our places on the line and sit drinking coffee together in the stillness of the morning. Once 8am hit we'd start plinking for groups, slow and steady, or busting the occasionally lollipop. Very zen and extremely enjoyable. Would be happy to meet up with you sometime and do an hour or so of plinking before you felt the need to hit one of the bays...

Currently my search for a 17 cleaning rod locally us a bust.
PSS now closes an hour earlier than shown online, went to SNR Plainfield which didn't have one.
Went to the new Shoot Point Blank on Rockville Road (no matter what they say it's not in Avon), where the guy who was the one who was supposed to know things insisted that a 22 rod would fit the 17... That said they did have a good stock of pistols.
