Bought a new gun yesterday. Sort of...spent enough to anyway. Actually, with the Mrs. being sick, I joined into the annual Mother's Day trip to the greenhouse to purchase annuals for around the house. Had no idea what plants that are going to die in a few months cost. Geez; no more guilt about ammo costs...

I've been hunting for a white nitride P10C for a while now. Nice to see that they are starting to ship.

The new slide arrived along with all the bits and pieces to up-grade the 10mm to a 2011.
The slide is for the 1911 frame we removed from the 10mm. I intended to put the new slide on the 1911 frame and just build 2 guns from the one.

Well, in my attempts to get this all under way I forgot the 10mm runs a ramped barrel and .45 ACP is not a ramped barrel..........Dang it. I had a barrel in hand to use here. Now it seems more funds will be needed for a ramped .45ACP 5" barrel.

Crap. I thought this was gonna be thrifty..........

Oh, come on, now. If you've been around here for six years, you should know that the only logical path he can choose is to build a pistol around the extra barrel.

What could we come up with for CM to build around the barrel? I'm going ultra high polish blued with burled walnut grips...or maybe a parkerized work horse with CM-grade internals. Send us your CC# and we will get something started.

That is the only logical path. Mind you, half way into the project, CM will decide that he wants a threaded barrel and that barrel too will be replaced.

You clearly have self-discipline. Easily couda' been two guns!!

I ended up with an extra AR trigger over the past few months and am pretty sure that's a good enough reason to build a 300BO pistol.

I built an entire car around a set of valve covers and matching air breather. We are a sick bunch.
This car. I found it after a Race in California and drove it back on 6 of 8 cylinders. Hit hard in the passenger quarter panel and original paint faded out.

Thats my now 33 year old daughter posing. She was maybe 3.

This is the barrel I intended to use. I pulled it from this TRP and put the Ed Brown barrel I had fit up to it when I 1st got the gun.
Now I have to probably most likely and possibly build an entire 1911 around this barrel..............

I will just have to.

Sitting with the spouse and she is resting peacefully so I went looking. Found a nice 1911 slide on RemSport to fit up to the single stack frame I am taking off of the new 10mm piece. This will keep me occupied building up another gun on that frame in .45 ACP.

The 10mm will be a dedicated 2011.
