As much as I'd love to be outside on this beautifulfay, I'm painting the 2011 gun today. Controls are done and curing in the oven. Will be painting the rest here shortly.

I learned quite a bit yesterday while practicing. Learning how to fine tune the gun for pattern/fluid/air was frustrating at times, but it was rewarding to see results improve after understanding the process better. Really enjoyed spraying the small parts earlier. I found working the 2 stage trigger of the spray gun doing those small parts to be quite fun actually.

Here are some of my practice pieces, Dillon tollheads and 50bmg brass. Stainless and Sniper Grey are the colors, left and right respectively.

    Not far from the tree
Owls are such cool birds. I caught this one peeking at me one afternoon.

Almost hit the barred owl that lives nearby as I went out the drive Thursday morning. Came within about 4' of my head flying out of the redbuds along the drive.

I attempted to do some, I hate to call it gunsmithing, but not sure what to refer to it as.

I had gotten the Hyve +3 magazine extension for the P2000. I took apart one magazine, attempted to put it back together, but in doing so, I dropped the set screw that came with. No idea where it went in my office. Luckily I had gotten two of the magazine extensions. So I have one magazine that will hold 16 rounds.

I then tried to install the extended magazine release. While doing so, I managed to drop it and the magazine release spring. I can't find the spring in my office either.

So I have an order in at HKParts for a new magazine release spring, and a VP9 magwell. I also have an order in at Hyve for a new set screw, CZ P10s +3 magazine extension, and a VP9 +3 magazine exention.

I need to get rid of the carpet in my office for when I do these things.

Only in the Czicko world …

Worked out a deal with B2V to buy his P-07 and Kadet kit. Meeting is all set for Saturday around 5:00 PM. Run into a bit of a delay, but through the magic of texting, we are able to keep the appointment. I get to the meeting spot a few minutes early, find a parking spot away from the bulk of the parking, but still able to clearly see the main entry. Just starting to text B2V that I’ve arrived and where I’m parked when his vehicle shows up. I wait a minute to see if he exits to greet me, but nothing doing, so I decide to walk over to introduce myself. I’m half way to the vehicle when the identical vehicle pulls up and B2V is driving!

Imagine the thoughts that were running through the minds of the people in the other vehicle when a stranger started to approach them.

Imagine the odds of the exact same vehicle arriving just moments before B2V, and parking next to me.

Deal went smoothly after the initial vehicle confusion. Spent today day working in the yard, so still need to get the P-07 to the range to wring it out.

If all goes well, this will be the ticket to getting my PCR back from my daughter.

Or ... invest in a high power magnet to retrieve those small parts that are hiding.

    In the country, hopefully.
So it's not supposed to be perfectly smooth?
Cerakote should be applied .25 to 3 mils thick, 1 mil is 1 thousandth of an inch (.001). (I had to look all that up)
So the subsurface is going to show. (That part I knew)
    No high build primer here.
That thin lets you spray all but the absolute tightest of fitting parts and still function.

The cerakote itself can be very smooth, I have done jobs that almost feel soft to the touch.
All about that air mixture, not spraying it dry, getting it wet but not running.

I tried that trick, and didn't pick up anything. No idea where those two parts went. I know I will find them when the new parts get delivered or when the cat brings them to me. She did try to help me find them though.
Attach one magnet to the cats collar, another to its tail.

No not really. I'm sure that could be achieved though. This is how I expected it to look.
I think the parts look great, I love contrasting small parts. Just really says “custom” and a nice reminder that “I did that”, even if only for me.

The earlier parts you posted I noticed a bit of something that looked bubbly but didn’t know if it was surface imperfections or a spray issue.

I know it’s not in the instructions, but I have used scotch brite pads to smooth a surface that I wanted smoother.
It usually ends up happening after the first blast, soak, and gas-out, I just soak it quick and blow it off and then paint, if I handled it with gloves.

The few things that I’ve had cerakoted and fun candy applied all pieces come out perfectly smooth. The ones that are a single color have always been a little eggshell texture. Assuming that’s the norm? Not sure if it’s just the clear that gets added after the base coat on the gun candy ones I have but it is my desired texture for sure
