    Text for Bill 127

Looks like the gist of it is
    1) Registration of all firearms with database being accessable by law enforcement, military, any govt. agency, and the general public.
    2) Federal license to own or purchase a firearm.
    A) Mandatory training to own and purchase.
    B) Mandatory psychological exam to own and purchase a firearm.
    C) Mandatory purchase of insurance to own a firearm.
    3) Licensing fee of $800
    4) Illegal (not NFA) to own a magazine that holds more than 10 rounds.
    5) Description on what constitutes military style weapons

Thanks for posting. I'll be contacting my critters shortly. I'm not going to say much on here just to set heads on fire but I can't believe some gun owners support this kind of nonsense.

What a shame we have to fight this crap.

Introduced by Shelia Jackson Lee, one of the least bright members of the house, and that's saying a lot.

There is so much here to break down. Everyone will need to read the text of this disaster of a bill. Just a few pages in and the number of encroachments is too numerous to count.

    “(b) Firearm Registration System.—
“(1) REQUIRED INFORMATION.—Under the firearm registration system, the owner of a firearm shall transmit to the Bureau—
“(A) the make, model, and serial number of the firearm, the identity of the owner of the firearm, the date the firearm was acquired by the owner, and where the firearm is or will be stored; and
“(B) a notice specifying the identity of any person to whom, and any period of time during which, the firearm will be loaned to the person.
“(2) DEADLINE FOR SUPPLYING INFORMATION.—The transmission required by paragraph (1) shall be made—
“(A) in the case of a firearm acquired before the effective date of this section, within 3 months after the effective date of this section; or
“(B) in the case of a firearm acquired on or after the effective date, on the date the owner acquires the firearm.
You all know the exact date that everyone of your guns came into your possession, right?

Not to mention applicants must undergo a screening by a licensed psychologist. Mandatory training totalling at least 24 hours.

    Whoo boy.

Horrible. And the fact it was proposed 2 weeks ago and doesn't have any other sponsors suggests there isn't much support for it (yet) in the House.

This is setting the outside margin of legislation. That won't get passed. The only issue is whether something "inside" of that margin gets traction.

Indeed, contact representatives and senators - even the Dem ones, if you happen to live in one of the few areas with a Dem representative.

I really think we are going to lose the fight. Just how bad? Idk but the golden age of gun ownership is over.

The psych eval is even worse than I thought. It includes other members of the family, even ex-spouses.

“(D) as part of the psychological evaluation, the licensed psychologist interviewed any spouse of the individual, any former spouse of the individual, and at least 2 other persons who are a member of the family of, or an associate of, the individual to further determine the state of the mental, emotional, and relational stability of the individual in relation to firearms.

Clearly the goal is to ensure no one is able to legally own firearms. **** this lady.

Yeah the problem is some of this garbage might be hidden in the next 1,000 page spending package. That's the only thing that passes in the house these days.
or buried in one of the dozens of executive orders Biden is going to sign.
