A French police officer has been killed at a police station near Paris.
French president Macro described the attack as Islamic terrorism.
The suspect was apparently shot and killed by a second officer.

Ongoing search at the suspect's home.

Sorry to hear this happened Sylvain and I'm glad to see the threat was ended without further casualties. Prayers for the slain Officer and all those who knew her.

We're taught over here by the "experts" that stabbings with a knife are just harmless kids play.

It was a female officer, stabbed in the neck.
She died on scene, so did the attacker after being shot by other officers.

My apologies. I wasn't aware that it was a female Officer. I corrected it in my post. This incident only proves that knife attacks of any kind can be and are extremely deadly.

I'd rather someone shooting at me than trying to stick me with a blade. Without a doubt.

What's an 'unarmed administrative officer', is that like a meter maid?

Very sorry to hear this. I'm surprised that your president has come right out and called it Islamic terrorism. I don't think we would hear that over here.

It's like a non-sworn officer part of the "civilian staff", they act more like a secretary.
I don't think they go in the field and they don't wear a uniform.
They might be at the front desk in some police station to deal with the public.

Technically she was not a police officer but she works for the police.
They are called "agent" in french and not "officer".

Thanks, so a non-leo employee that just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

She was getting back into the building apparently.
Not sure why she was targeted.

Maybe because she was unarmed but she could also have been a plain clothes officer with a concealed weapon.

Yes, it's famous for it's 18th century chateau and for its large forest.
It used to be the summer residence of the French president until recently.

US President Gerald Ford went to that city for a G6 summit held in that castle in 1975.

Its a shame the attacker is dead. Running a pig through a wood chipper and the terrorist with it such as to blend the puree would have been a fitting end.

    Oh, that's lovely.

France (and maybe Belgium) is one country that earns an exception to my rule, "only vacation in countries that were behind the iron curtain."

Paris (CNN)An anti-terrorism investigation has been launched in France after a female police officer was killed in a knife attack at a police station in a Paris suburb.
Rambouillet is a city 35 miles from Paris, it's not really a Paris suburb. :dunno:

Reacting to the attack, French President Emmanuel Macron said France would not give up the fight against terrorism.
"She was a police officer. Stephanie has been killed in her police station in Rambouillet, on the already wounded land of the Yvelines. The Nation stands by the side of her family, her colleagues, and law enforcement officers. We will not give up the fight against Islamist terrorism," Macron said on Twitter.

Indeed it is lovely. People like this need sent off with no question in their minds that they are going straight to Hell. It will make the next ones think twice.
