    As far as 1911 tooling. ed brown makes a good sear jig, its cheap and does a good job and also an ed brown grip safety jig for .250 radius cuts but the Wilson grip safeties have grown on me more then the .250 radius. Wilson's tool is a bit more, but to me more visually pleasing.
    Several India stones and a small file set will take you a ways. I had several tools from the body shop that crossed over so it is hard to say way I could do without at this point.
    An air compressor and a 90 degree roloc grinder with scotch brite pads is real handy as well.
    various grits of sand paper from 320 to 1000 grit is useful also

    One of the best tools would be to take BOB RODGERS roll your own class in building a 1911 from scratch. Limited number of people buo expert hands on experience You will buy the parts to build a 1911 and fit it end up having a custom
    gun.This would be one of the best tools that i could think of.
