    1. Indiana has no statute as to sword canes as law as one does not do silly things with it (misuse it, steal one, or carry one in a prohibited area, e.g. courthouse or jail).

    2. Indiana, unlike Tejas, has no statute as to the length of knives.* Indiana is not subject to Texas law or I'd have to start wearing string ties, elf boots and a big silly hat.:D

*Note that some counties have ordinances as to length of blades when carrying knives into courthouses that could impact your choice of carry knife.

They sold them at Grindstone Cutlery last I was there.
Legal to sell = legal to possess = legal to carry.
I'm sure a passing LEO might have some questions for the fellow with a sword cane. ;)

They used to be illegal; the law was repealed.

Blade length of a carried knife used to be 6"; likewise, that was repealed.

It used to be illegal to carry a firearm into a bar. Now, we can.

I pretty much memorized the 1996 criminal code. When I got to college in '98-'99 and got my new book, I found that most of what I'd memorized had been repealed.

This is where a lot of confusion comes in.

ltch has nothing to do with knifes and yes you cannot carry a blade over 4 inches if you can prove other wise send me a link to the website

Exactly backwards. In the absence of a law prohibiting it, it is legal. So what's the law prohibiting it.

To get you started, here's a link to the entire "weapons and instruments of violence" section of the Indiana code:

Indiana Code TITLE 35, Article 47 Table of Contents

    Cite code please.

Eh, it might have been the '94 version.

It was whatever was online at the time, folks.

I don't have a reference of repealed laws; I've looked for one hoping to find one in the past and can't.

Very little was online in '94* though I think IU-B Law may have had state statutes on line at the time. If you know any of the specific citations I can find the old statutes, otherwise it's too much to slog through.

*Internet history trivia: I put a gun webpage on an now gone IU-B server in '94 and it was listed as one of the first 5000 pages on the WWW. I also had an Indiana gunowners majordomo list which is how we did this back in the old days. :fogey:
