If you have access to the equipment and the knowledge to run it, you're a prime candidate for a Form1 build. I'm waiting on a form 1 right now for a .308 can. And if you're looking for input on design, I would suggest going to silencertalk and checking out the "Silencer Smithing" section, you'll learn a lot really fast.Sounds like they are complicated.
Yeah, I have had my share of growing up around metal lathes, mills, making parts from scratch. Have an engineering degree. Had mechanical engineering classes, CNC programming, manufacturing jobs (including molds, casting, de-gate, finish grinding and turning), manufacturing management (overseeing world's largest plant in one type of industry's quality control staff), and such.
Too bad all the economic factors and regulations are not there to reduce the per unit cost.
