I wanted to switch the gas block on one of my AR-15s to adjustable gas. My intent was to use it in conjunction with a low mass carrier, but also to use it once I have a suppressor for it.

I have a Syrac Gen II on another upper, but I was curious about another offering... I bought and installed one of the superlative arms adjustable "bleed off" blocks. I haven't shot it yet, but I am imagine it will function similarly to my Syrac. My question is: Will the gas "bleeding off" make this setup louder than a run of the mill adj gas block? Isn't that why piston guns are louder than DI guns suppressed, because the gas block is bleeding off excess gas from the piston? It didn't occur to me until I had it installed.
