Like the title says, I've got a stuck AR15 trigger guard roll pin.

I need to strip this gun to ship it out to get cerakoted, and I cannot for the life of me get it out. I've read on the internet to put some penetrating oil on it and heat it with a torch and let it cool a few times to loosen it up and let the oil get between the pin and the ears and gently tap it out but damn if I'm stuck.

Any tips? Anyone else dealt with this before?

Are you using a punch made for roll pins? Or just a punch? It can make a difference. I have also used a drill press as a arbor press to push roll pins out.

Good advice. Also you might try tossing it in the freezer for a couple of hours. Then you can heat the receiver and try to push the pin out quickly. Aluminum transfers heat much faster than the steel roll pin.

Also make sure you are supported on something solid.... if your table or bench has any flex to it you are not transferring that blow solidly.... I often moved projects like this to the concrete floor and used a larger hammer. Make sure you are using a roll pin punch as well, it will come out.

    Got it out. Awwww yisss.

I think all it really took was real penetrating oil...I didn't have any last night. Got some on the way home from school today and voila.

    Thanks for the input, guys.
