Here is what I have: Whitney percussion revolver.
I am not very familiar with civil war era guns, so please do not flame me over it.

This gun was given to me by a friend shortly before his death. I am not a collector of this kind of thing. I want to sell it to give his widow some unexpected money.

It is my goal to not misrepresent anything out of ignorance so please feel free to ask any questions.
If my answer is “I don’t know” it means no more than that.

    This is what I know:

All of the numbers that I find match. “1887”

    It is a 36 caliber.

    The hammer has been bobbed.

It is missing the rotating pin that released the loading lever. I understand that this is common.

I am not sure about the cylinder timing, as it will rotate a little bit when the trigger is pulled back.

It is an early issue because it has a spring loaded ball lever catch.

The holster that comes with it is not correct for this gun.

The barrel seems amazingly bright, in my opinion.

I understand that NRA rates it fair + to good.

The other items tools bag bullet caster may or may not be the same era as the gun, but they go with it.

I can provide additional photos by request

I am located on the North Side of Indianapolis.

    $600.00

    Thanks.
    - Rick
