.44 mag. 240gr plated bullet over 17gr of Accurate #7. Note this is now exceeding the maximum per Alliant, but the old Lee manual lists it as below max. No sticky extraction, pushed primers, so I don't think the Lee loadings are over pressure.

It is quite sporty with wooden grips and an exposed back strap, though muzzle flash seemed to be less then H110.

I"ve found multiple posts on different forums while doing load research where the poster is of the opinion that a lot of the newer load data from Accurate is very "lawyered down".
While going over the manufacture's max load is definately a "at you own risk" type of thing, I still think you're ok with 17gr of #7 under a 240 grainer.

This data is for Accurate #7....

Sierra load data for their 240gr JHC set at 1.600" oal:
    14.3gr/1100fps
    15.2gr/1150fps
    16.1gr/1200fps
    17.0gr/1250fps

Speer data for their 240gr JHP,GDHP,GDSP, and JSP..all at 1.575" oal
    Start charge: 15.5gr/1183fps
    Max charge: 17.5gr/1319fps

[FONT=&amp]Speaking of Accurate powders and the 44mag,.. I've read a bunch of older posts on various forums of guys using #2 and #5 for soft to midrange loads with good results. Their current load data doesn't show any recipies for either powder in the 44mag so I e-mailed them to see if they had any recommendations and this is the response I got:

I've tested the data for the 3 240gr loads of #2 and they are spot on velocity wise thru my 629. And with splitting the #5 loads using 12.5gr under a 240gr swc I saw 1190fps .
If you like the Accurate powders, which I do- especially how they meter, I thought this data might be useful

Thanks, I have quite a bit of #5 on hand, I'll give that a go for something that's not "welp, that's plenty" after a cylinder or two.

Loaded 20 per powder test rounds with several different powders at mid range to find a easy to handle and accurate load for a short barrel 45acp with 200 grain plated. Thinking Power-Pistol, Clays maybe HS-6 will be good for handling.

Finally got going on some 380 auto. 100 gr Berrys RN over 2.8 gr of TiteGroup. I'm hoping over the next couple of days I will get about 1000 done. Then I'll be switching to 45ACP.

Yes sir it is a good one, 4.7 gr with 200 gr SWC. I just got in from my powder test for a S&W shield in 45acp. Tight-group is a thumper! CFE-P and W-231 not bad, Bullseye and Unique are dirty, unique more so but shot fairly well, I was surprised.

My basement partially flooded, so all my reloading stuff got moved and piled on top of my bench. There isn't room to lo load anything at the moment, and I'm too lazy to re organize it all, so I spent last evening sorting bullets and brass by weight for my .223.

I really need to get the shelves back up and clean off my bench. I did find a can of Bullseye I forgot I had.:)

tossed a bunch of 45acp brass in the tumbler, ran off another 100 rds of 155gr SWC 45acp

got tired of looking at the pile of pistol and mag bags laying around, so a built a quick shelf off the side of my vertical gun rack....

of course that led to having to reorganize competition belts and rifle cases on the wall....
