Just got back from a few days in the Smokey's. As luck would have it, our hotel was just down the street from Smokey Mountain Knife Works and Bud's Gun Shop. Spent an hour or so in the Knife Works then went over to Bud's just to see what it is like. For a gun shop, it is huge. They spent a lot of time and thought on the decor and even had comfy chairs and couches for my wife to pass her time while I was roaming around. I only looked at one handgun. I asked if they had any police trade in G22's. "Yes, we have this Gen 3". It was listed at $399.00. The only reason I wanted to look at it was to reaffirm that the price I paid for a IMPD Gen 4 was fair. The real surprise was the Gen 3 they had in the case was from none other than the Marion County Sheriffs Department. MCxxxxSD serial number and the badge embossed on the slide. Did MCSD change out their 40's the same time that IMPD did?

I wish Bud's had been open there when I used to go there on a regular basis. My folks lived in Wears Valley TN in a nice cabin they had built for several years. The Knife Works was a regular visit, but I don't believe Bud's was there at the time.

When you turn off the main highway, instead of turning right into Smokey Mountain Knife Works parking lot go straight to the intersection and turn left. It is across the street to the west of the Lodge Factory Outlet store. It is right next to the Coleman Outlet store.

Where is Bud's in relation to the smokey mtn knife? It's not the small gun shop inside the knife shop, right?

It's across the street. When you turn off the highway to go to SMKW, you'll see the Bud's sign a little farther down the road ( see I was beat to it ).

Went to both stores back in February. We went down there for my son's fifth birthday. I could hardly get him out of SMKW. We were in there for hours. It wasn't easy to get him out of Bud's either.

Dang, wish I had paid closer attention when I was there back in October. Would have liked to have at least visited the showroom.

We were just there for a long weekend and made it to SMKW. They had a pretty nice firearm section. I've been to Bud's before. Very nice selection and friendly folks. A buddy went there and rented a full auto M4.

Was just at Buds and the Knife Works last Wednesday. Killing time while the wife shopped one of the scrapbook outlets.

Didn't look at any guns at Buds... not in the market and nothing caught my eye as super cool or unusual to play with.
Spent $40 on a small soft case for my PCC. Wanted a larger one also for the longer long guns, but didn't like any they had.

Got a couple knives at the Knife Works... nothing fancy... a couple of clearance items, a souvenir Case knife for Dad, and a sharpener.

Knife place was WAY more impressive than Buds.

There is a Lodge cast iron outlet store in that area too. Also, a pretty good tool outlet. We spend 3 hours there every time we are headed to the mountains.

How much did it cost to test fire guns at buds? I walked down around that area last time I was there, but can’t recall pricing. I think we are planning a trip again in the fall.

Kind of off topic but who would of thought this guy would be hiding out in our bathtub in the cabin we rented. This was in Sevierville. Almost had to pay for a new cabin, the wife just about torched the place.
