I'm in a phase right now, I really <3 the .41's. Does anyone else have some love for the "middle magnum". My recently acquired 57 no dash 6" is pictures.

Not a fan of unfluted cylinders normally, but it looks great with the full underlug and those grips, I bet you have to find some stout loads to notice recoil.

No, you "notice" it just fine. I have a S&W Model 57 no dash and a Bisley for the serious loads. The .41 Mag is one of the finest revolver cartridges ever conceived. Since most .41 Mag revos were designed around a large frame and cylinder that was originally built for a .44 Mag you end up with a gun that is heavier, stronger and shoots flatter than a .44 Mag with just as much power and a little less recoil.

I shot some winchester silvertip 175 grains. maybe it was the excitement but I have noticed more recoil in some .40 loads. :dunno:

I was ammazed looking at the .41 v.44 with factory ammo the .41 is almost always "less powerful" by a marginal amount, but the .41 is factory rated from a 4", the .44 is rated from either a 6" or an 8-3/8". my hornaday reloading manual has more powerful loads for the .44 but I still haven't looked at many other sources. I can't wait to see just how much power you can coax out of the .41.

Factory ammo loadings have gotten slightly better than they were for a long time but you really have to handload to see what's possible. Check out the Cast Boolit Forum and read about companies offering heavy bullets for the .41 like 240, 265, even 295 grainers. :n00b: Find a copy of Lyman's cast bullet book.

Yeah, you can find heavy bullets for the .41, but a 210 XTP going a little over 1600 FPS is hard to beat :D

I have 3 41s but I don't have photos. I have a scoped 657 , a model 57 and a Marlin 1894 FG. I sold the Ruger Blackhawk to the father in law. The 41 mag is why I started handloading. I will try to add pictures later this week.

I just bought 3 boxes of 41 mag from Cwood at the 1500. I got a box for me to shoot and two for my buddy who owns a Ruger BlackHawk. I will get my first tast of 41 in two weeks. I just got a 10mm and it is a fun shooter, the 41 should be a blast as well. I can't wait to try it out.

I hoped there would be more .41mags among ingo members :-(

Not to speak for other people, but I'd imagine that scarcity of ammo and prevalence of .44 Magnum make the .41 Mag a hard sell. You can't normally just walk into Wally World or DIck's and find lots of choices for .41 Magnum, if they have any at all.
