    You know..

Maybe our preps should include a simplistic tractor stashed in the garage?
When the SHTF, you can use said tractor to grab tasty cool vehicles, plus.... the things are damn useful, for grabbing other things? Getting crap unstuck...or what?

I am now officially looking for an old International Harvester older tractor.

Never underestimate the value of a simple farmers tractor!

Your idea is not a bad one, however:

    1) That’s not some simple man’s ol’ Deere in that photo. Ukraine ag is running almost as modern equipment as Iowa. That could be the better part of 400k USD tooling down the road.

    2) Have you priced a used “simple farmers tractor” lately?

Look up Ted Everett, and come to the next sale.

Id rather have an old dozer with a giant winch on the back.

Also could be a Fendt in the pic.
It does look like a Fendt to me too. Plus, you'd need one heavy enough to pull multi-ton armor around like that. You're right, an old dozer would work great but you getaway speed wouldn't be as fast...lol

It's a Fendt. Plevna Implement is the dealership that sells them in Kokomo and Nappanee. Just FYI so you all in Indiana can be better prepared.

Well yes, I know the newer ones are expensive.

I was more thinking of an older antique, or an old dozer, or some piece of older heavy equipment.

I saw one video, where they lashed two smaller tractors up to pull a tank away.

    In the country, hopefully.
What kind of tractor is popular in the Ukraine?
In Europe in general, smaller and faster than the average Midwest tractor. Still for pulling, but also for getting around in tight areas, higher mobility with quicker shifting. The 40 mph tractor was there long before here and still more popular, same with IVT’s. Of course there are still huge field tractors in the broadacre areas in Europe but it seems like the average farm/farmer is much smaller.
Most of what I’ve seen in these pics I would guess at 80-120 hp, but very efficient use of power through gearing or IVT’s.
