Yeah, git that meat that was MADE in the store. Any other reason for not eating a veg only diet besides this guy's take can be listed below.

Don't judge all vegheads by a whacko or three.
Just like all gun owners aren't psychopaths waiting to shoot people over a parking spot.

So, with the whole vegan thing... honey is bad, but bread is OK? The yeast got killed in the oven and the bee is still alive. Or is it just animals you can see?

So are apples OK too? But what about all those poor bees getting exploited to do all that pollenation work?

    :D

    all in good fun...

    but since you asked...

I'm with you on the manufacturing processes. I try to eat as little prepared and processed food as I can, and my wife buys organic and local when possible, and grows a garden...

but I am truly curious about what makes the distinction for vegans as to why some "animal products" (yeast) are OK, and apples and oranges are OK (exploits the bees, having their hives moved all over the place), but honey isn't? My wife has a couple vegan friends, and I've asked and all I ever get is .

You both have to stand back to back during a full moon and smack each other upside the head with chalkboard erasers full of yellow chalk dust (NOT WHITE...that's racist).
They just don't show that prep on TV.
how do you do that nerve pinch thing that makes people black out?????
Easy... you slip them a mickey first. They don't show that either.
Oh and do you know T'Pal? She's hott!
    We're like *this*.

Technically, the bee vs yeast thing comes down to whether the organism is a sentient being or not.
For some, it comes down to the gross factor...meaning that people are grossed out that honey is literally bee vomit.
Personally, I avoid it because I have allergies and since it's "made" from pollen, it can aggravate things for me.
For people with really bad allergies, sometimes only locally harvested honey is what their systems can handle. I'm not really up to speed with every aspect of it.
I eat a vegan diet, but I do wear leather boots/belt/holster. I'm no "purist" by any stretch, but I'm also not about to say that the people who choose to be so should all be lumped into the same category and labeled "nutters".
