The guy in the HHR was obviously not the brains of the operation...

Deputies from Bartholomew County later found Cornett’s vehicle and stopped him. All six boxes of ammunitions were still inside the vehicle. Cornett informed police that a “guy named Jack on a phone app called Kik” told him he would get a discount at Rural King and “all he had to do” was push the cart out of the store.

Well crud, they edited the story. Earlier it said, "Cornett was turned over to the Shelby County Sheriff's Department. The Deputies also turned over the ammunition." Like it's newsworthy to mention stolen property was actually turned over and they didn't yell, "GIT SOME TARGETS, BOYS!! WE GOIN TO THE RANGE!! YEEEE-HAWWWW!!" I mean it's not like the individual who in high school was named least likely to be a Bond Villain was apprehended by a mob of INGOers. :lmfao:

Cornett was taken to Shelby County and released into the custody of the Shelbyville Police Department. He’s charged with theft. In addition, police issued a trespass warning at Rural King’s request.
Shelbyville police returned the ammunition to the store. The merchandise, with tax, had a total value of $3,744.54, according to court documents.

    not lost, wandering...
So, you can't return purchased ammo because of safety concern policy... but I'm guessing they take this and put it back on the shelf?

Now obviously he didn't have time to do anything to it, but interesting how that goes.
Right, should be sold at a deep discount....dibs, ok will share amongst thread participants

If stupidity were a crime, he'd be slapped with an additional felony charge.

Kik is a messaging app notorious for its porn bots and hard-core porn content - and has been for over a decade. Exerts zero control over content or the age of its users in spite of minimum age requirements in its ToS. In addition to the explicit, graphic sexting, some of it paid, it's also an infamous child sex predator haven.

A little lizard told me I could save a bunch of money by just walking out of the store with the product instead of stopping by the register. It’s sound financial advice.
