    Too bad it has an external "safety" and mag disconnect, otherwise I'd be more interested. As other have said (in other context), Ruger has a, "proud tradition of obnoxious manual safety designs on their firearms, so it’s no surprise."

    (And, it's also "safety" that is easily, and unintentionally activated when racking the slide.)

    Then they come out with the LCP II Max, that has no such "safties." Go figure.

    I'm hoping for a "Pro" or "Max" version of the .22 version without the "safety" features.

    If Ruger partly intended for the .22 version to be a low recoil, less expensive version of the .380 to train with, as their own spec sheet intimates (i.e. "Low recoil for comfortable training"), then it SHOULD have had the EXACT same external controls as the 380 version (although I supposed I could have forgiven leaving an internal/passive mag disconnect if the lawyers at Ruger absolutely couldn't sleep without one).
