Looking for quality, but bang for the buck economical. Seems our current one is going out on us. I have a fiber optic service with I think between 50 and 70 Mbs

at those speeds, make sure whatever you get can handle it. cheaper routers will top out at only 50mbits of actual firewall throughput.

Buffalo makes good ones that can handle the speeds typically.

This is what I use, but then again, I'm a bit geeky. Yes, its not a single solution, but works phenomenally and I have incredible insight into what is going on in my network. (3rd is optional. You can run the free controller software on a PC if it is up all the time)

I had a Cisco/Linksys that worked well for around 10 years. It just went out a few months ago. I got a new Linksys WRT3200ACM. The set up was easy and it is noticeably faster than my old one. I hope this one lasts as long as the last one did.

To make a good recommendation, we would need to know a few things...
    1. Any tv's running streaming services? How many?
    2. Any gaming consoles?
    3. How many devices connected to the internet?
    4. How big is your house?
    5. Where will the router be located in your house?

ive been running ubiquiti stuff and it's great. I also have the 24 port POE switch. Makes for a nice home surveillance system being able to easily set up VLANs. Great products and wonderful support.

Why let a good thread die...

I'm pondering getting a router and table - mostly to be used in the table, so... I guess a fixed base model.

How big should it be? 2 hp? 3 hp? more?

Primarily I need to route grooves for paneling in some cabinetry - that's almost impossible without a router or table saw.

I have good one that I bought and used for about a couple weeks before my ISP sent me a new one with our upgraded service.

If you are interested, it's still listed in the INGO classifieds.
