Hi everyone! I just picked up a rossi m677 snubbie, with the shaved hammer, sorry i do not know the correct term on that, but anyways can anyone tell me anything about these guns i.e. quality, value, reliability etc. Any info would be good info.

    Thanks,

I have a Rossi M68 .38spl. The trigger pull is better than a comparable S&W. I really like this little thing.

The downside is that they're somewhat fragile. I'd shoot .38spl for practice and .38+P for self-defense. (I'd recommend .38+P from any short barrel due to the fireball and blast, and not much gain in effectiveness.)

Though they are somewhat fragile (compared to the S&W anyway), mine has many hundreds of rounds of +P through it - just wanted to see how it'd hold up, and it's held up just fine.

Quality seems to be OK, value is good, and I've never had any reliability problems.

Should you need parts, you can find them at e-gunparts.com (Numrich).

Pachmayr makes comfortable grips for these revolvers.

The term for the hammer you're searching for is "bobbed hammer spur."
