With what the man brought to the table last time, I think he might have a better shot at it this go around because. He draws a base of all ages and he is not afraid to tell the truth. With the situation we are in it's quite possible.

    Southeast of disorder.
I like Ron Paul. His book A Foreign Policy of Freedom is a good read. I agree with a lot of his ideas, I also disagree with a few too. His downfall though are the "troofer" conspiracy types that also like him.

yeah the "troofers" may be negative, but obama's associations with Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright didn't kill his campaign, neither did communists, socialists, and eco-terrorists that also supported him.

Why is he not presidential material? I hear this said but it is usually unsupported.

Sometimes I wonder if we the people make things not happen. If we believe in something and work on our friends / neighbors why not. We surround them. I'm not looking for a fight I just want to know your thoughts.

What is he though 75? Kind of long in the tooth.

Yes, he'd be the oldest president ever elected if it happened.

That being said, if he were to make it only a week in the oval office, the country would see more good done than we will have seen under four years with the "Mighty O" and probably anybody else the R's can run against him.

Reagan still holds the record. He was pretty long in the tooth too. I'm guessing you don't regret the fact that he was elected. I'm guessing you wouldn't regret a Paul presidency, though I understand you might not be heartily behind the idea now.

Because idiots prefer to vote for liars & thieves who steal from them and enslave them.

Ron Paul is honest and liberty-oriented. And, as we have witnessed, there is only a small percentage of us who are smart enough to realize that and vote for him.

I didn't know much about him until I watched the debates with
the front runners being asked question....he challenged someones
answer an said why he was so wrong! An then gave his long explanation
how is way was better....problem was he said exactly what the same guy
he challenged had said!!!!! They told him he was wrong an what the guy said...
...he looked like he was lost in space an didn't know what to say...I felt
sorry for him.....I thought to myself....well....he might have some good things,
but no way I want him any where near the Botton for the nukes...gotta go with
the OP on this one....George Washington, we need you!!!!

Hes a better choice than Palin, Romney, Pawlenti....

I couldn't agree more. I don't like hearing people harass Sarah Palin for stupid crap, but I'm tired of watching the right drool over her. Ron Paul will probably get my vote if he runs for president in 2012.

In the '80's, I actually sent Ron Paul contributions for his Texas congressional run. But, during the run-up to the election when Paul said on one of the late-night talk shows that the reason Obama was facing strong opposition was because of racism I lost any last shred of respect for the man. If he believed what he said, he was an idiot; if he didn't believe it he was a liar.

Do you have a link to this interview so that I can see it, or do you perhaps know what show it was on?

While at Knob Creek, this weekend, I saw a t-shirt that contained the would-be slogan "Guess we Can't" adjacent to a monochrome line-drawing of Obama, except the President's eyes were replaced by step-n'-fetch-it eyes from early movies.

Any way you slice it, that's racism.
