I don't really mind the RK idiocy, but I'm a bit of an outlier.
If you buy a gun from RK online and have it shipped to a different FFL, RK guns will charge you $12.99 shipping.
That's a good price for shipping a firearm.
I have them ship to my local gun shop

I have two local gun shops that do not charge me for transfers.
I haven't paid a firearms transfer fee in more than 20 years.

Spend some time in your local gun shop.
Get to know the proprietor, and the employees.
I help out when I can, and they reciprocate.

I did it ONCE… the price was too good to pass up and I had no previous experience at RK.
NEVER AGAIN will I purchase a gun from RK. Almost 2 hours of my life and then I had to be escorted out the door by the manager like a crook due to “company policy”.
F them… I‘ll go there to buy birdseed and pet the bunny’s. The gun shop can go straight to hell.

    Fort Wayne RK… btw.
    Yours still has bunnies?

Honestly though, I've bought a few at ours and have never had any trouble. I never enjoyed the perp walk but they're not doing that anymore. Some of the clerks are idiots but some not. My biggest gripe is the triggerlock policy, but I get it. It's corp. and legal b.s. Would be nice if they'd let you see more than 1 gun out of the case so you could compare, that rules is dumb. I treat RK as a source to buy from and nothing more. If I go there and buy something I have already done my research and know what I'm getting and dont need their help or terrible opinions.

Bought my LCP MAX from the Muncie RK last year and did not experience any issues that would sway me from buying a gun there again.

I've bought a couple from the local RK, wait seemed to be generally in line with any other place. A few minutes extra for the manager to come by and verify the numbers.

My biggest issue is that if they run the 4473 and it comes back delayed, if you haven't purchased or put a down payment on it they will leave it on the floor and someone else can buy it while you're waiting for the proceed. Don't know if that is corporate wide or just my local (Monticello).

But certainly not surprising. I know more about food than most McDonald’s employees. If one buys a gun at the McDonald’s of guns why is it sad if one gets what they pay for?
McDonald's sells McDonald's food. Pretty sure Rural King sells the same guns as everyone else. Not really following your logic. I'm paying for the gun, not warm fuzzies and a massage.

I don't need the clerk to know more about what I'm buying than I do. If I want to be dazzled with brilliance, I'm not going to any gun shop, let alone a Rural King. If they have the best price on a gun that I want, or they have something in stock that I haven't been able to find anywhere else, they'll get my business.

And if you know more about food than most McDonald's employees, what the **** are you doing in a McDonald's?

Here in Ohio I have bought trucks in less time and lot less aggravation than buying a gun from a RK store. Has anyone here done their "online only" purchases? I imagine it would just add to the misery.
I was with a friend at the Frankfort store they would not let him touch the Ruger 57 he was buying!!! another man came in to by a long gun which did not have a box and he was told he had to purchase a gun case or bring one in in order to take it out of the store

I've purchased a gun from Rural King twice. Two different stores. My total wait time was in line with how busy they were. Nothing substantially different from any other gun store, except they had what I wanted at the best price I could find.

Went to buy a shotgun, told the guy he had to put in my UPIN ( why I have a UPIN is a long story, told here a few times)....an hour later, got delayed, then denied....contacted NICS, they told me no UPIN was entered.....Ended up buying a better shotgun from a cop for the same price.....I still want a P17, and they have them cheap...

I've bought a few @ RK including a couple online orders... it's all down to who you are dealing with. The employees that know their job are efficient and helpful, the ones that don't are a nightmare to deal with.

The one story I'll tell is that I ordered a rifle from them once and pretty much immediately decided it was not a good idea for me to buy it, even though it was a good deal, and called to cancel it the next day. Was assured it was no problem because they hadn't processed it or charged my card. A few weeks later, I got a call from RK store telling me my prepaid rifle was in store waiting for me to pick up... I confirmed that there was no debit to my account and told them what happened. Honesty is the best policy...

Years ago, I bought 2 G43 matching his & hers , bought on rkguns, shipped to ft wayne, took longer for the kid at the counter to find both my guns then the paperwork did....in & out no problem. I still look at the offerings, but nothing exciting in my opinion.

I got one there because it was a good deal…. While I was waiting my hour + the counter clerk was telling me how much he hates anything that holds over 5rounds and how he wishes he could stop selling them to people. Talk about putting salt in the wound….

I've bought a few from RK On-Line & had them all shipped to the Jeffersonville store. Total time in store varied from 20 Mins to about an Hour. Depends on the Clerk (proficiency or a lack thereof) & Customer Volume at the time you pick it up. As has been mentioned, their Sales volume have obviously increased since the new Regime took over & avoid Weekends. If the right "Bargain" shows up, I'll purchase from RK again.

....recently purchased my TISAS 1911 from RK. Took a bit of time to receive it. Had to wait behind a few people ahead of me to do the paperwork. No perp walk. I bought because the price was probably as good as I was going to see for a new piece that I will probably only use a couple times a year. In fact, I had to get brass, bullets, loading dies and a 1903 Springfield to pair with it. That will now also need brass, bullets and loading dies. Oh, since I purchased primed brass to start, large pistol primers are also going to be needed. One simple purchase snowballed expensively, lol.....none of the extras came from RK.

This is me. I bought two M&P's from them. Ordered them online, they called me when they were in, I went to one of their kiosks and filled out the forms. Once they processed, they finished up their paperwork and walked me to the door.

I would say it took less than 30 minutes from door to door for both instances.

But, I wouldn't "shop" there for a firearm. I only purchased them because they were smoking deals.

Used them several times with no Difficulty at all in the store. Shipping may be slow but they get here and I fill out 4473 form and done.

I was told having a UPIN makes me a "prohibited person" under their corporate policy.

I've bought 3 in the last year from RK Guns in Indiana. The first 2 took about a week to get in, the last one took 3 weeks. I tried all of my local shops and a few not so local, only 1 shop could get one of the three and he was $180 more than RK guns. I didn't think the experience was horrible, just that 3 week wait on the last one that sucked.

McD’s sells the same food as everyone else. Think of a Big Mac as an AR15 kit with accessories included. LOL

I don't understand why "the guy" would have to put in your UPIN? It's on the purchaser's part of the 4473, so you would be the one who enters it. It's the same on paper or electronic forms, in my experience.
I put it in, he didn't follow through....
