Prezackly. I'm amazed that this is still a thing.

No, when I was 26 the sky wasn't falling...maybe a few cracks though. Nothing some moderate action in the right direction wouldn't have fixed.
Then and now I think a balanced budget amendment would do much to solve some issues.
OK, lets say a balanced budget amendment gets passed. The government is currently taking in roughly $2 trillion and spending $3.5 trillion. Where is that $1.5 trillion going to be made up? Raising taxes? Likely as half the country doesn't pay any income taxes. Cutting spending? What are they going to cut? Remember my 80% of the people are tyrants comment? There isn't a single spending program that can be cut without a significant amount of recipients of said program putting congress in check. The government would rather risk pissing you off by raising taxes than taking your handout from you. The federal government writes 73 million checks every month. Who among that 73 million is going to forego their check?

Yep. You need candidates lined up 2 deep because the first ones are going to lose their jobs after one term.
No, I missed the 80% tyrants comment. I'd like to see you qualify that.
Ever heard of lawn weapons?

You are under the assumption that I care who you vote for. I addressed another poster and laid out my voting strategy and gave my reasons for doing so.Saying that voting your mind is the "easy way out" is a little condescending no?
It's not the easy way out, it's not really a question of which is the easy way out. I have a different MO than you. Your one and only purpose in this election is to unseat BO. My goal is to be part of the catalyst that God willing will someday facilitate change. "There is no third party candidate that has the momentum to be a viable option," well yeah, not yet. You're making the wrong comparison in voting strategy. I never made any claims to whether or not you were right or wrong for voting for Romney, I don't really care who you vote for, I just get fed up with people self righteously telling me that my vote for a third party is a waste of time and ultimately nothing more than a vote for Obama.
I'm not a Republican. I dont believe we will realistically have a balanced budget amendment. So I dont believe politicians when they say they'll deliver one. I only said it would be good for the nation. Especially back when I was 26.A balanced budget is just a red herring. Something they can promise you to get your vote.
Its pretty insulting when you think about it. They have taken part in stealing from us the most precious jewel of all, liberty, and then they try to buy our vote with the empty promise of a balanced budget amendment.
Liberty will never be returned to us by way of the republican party, and propping them up makes them behave worse.
If you are voting republican because you believe that they will, in time come to see the error of their ways and start to follow the constitution then you are voting on a false premise.
How much freedom will you need to lose before you stop rewarding them with your vote?
Well by all means, why do it? Why do anything, lets just stay at home on election day since there is no solution to anything, well except vote for Ron Paul, oh wait he can't fix anything either, it's impossible.
We had a wheeping willow tree. They were ALL green!I have! My Dad would make me go out into the yard and choose a stick to get whacked with. Never come back with a soft thin green one, they act like a whip and can and often draw blood even through a pair of jeans.
P.S. I love you Dad and miss you very much.

If you want your vote to count and at some point get the people u want in office it has to start at the local level, get involved yourself, city counsel, school board, ect, you may even want to run for office on small scale, take the local seats, state rep, state senate seats, Congressional seats, US senate seats ( support Murdock) get the house, and senate, stop the dictator, shake up the establishment on both sides, turn this boat around, now that said,, i look at this as a 20 year war, and not a war won this November alone.
