I was not really happy with my groups using my Marlin 1894 in .44 Mag with the XS Sights ghost ring sights. I do not know if this is me or the rifle. The 240 grain MagTech JSP rounds did pretty well and definitely one minute of deer at 50 yards, but I was unimpressed at 100. I decided to get the XS Sight scout scope mount to help reduce the groups and allow me to better check various ammo for accuracy. I am using a BSA 2x20 pistol scope at first. They have either worked on a big recoil gun or exploded and had to be fixed. I figure for $40, I can check if I like the setup. What I need are a set of quick detach 1 inch weaver rings, so I have the option of going to irons if I need. What do people use? Most that I have seen are pricier than the scope. :D
