I think this was noted previously in a different thread, but worthy of a revisit. It would be fun, certainly a conversation piece at the range. Until they figured out it wasn't full auto...

And they have decent customer service too!
They fixed a barrel with feed issues that they could have easily told me to pound sand because AllenM and I both thought he could fix it.
But even with the modified ramp, they still fixed it. Apparently they didnt cut actual ramps in the first 9mm AR barrels so they only worked with conical bullets. Since then they've all had the actual ramp they cut into mine.

So, what caliber are we liking this in? Comes in the original 7.92mm Kurz, 5.56, 300 BLK and 7.62x39.
Personally I'd get the 7.62x39 model. Makes the most sense considering just how closely related it is to the 7.92x33 Kurz but still priced well enough to blast with. As much as I love 5.56, it would be an abomination to chamber the STG44 with it.

Wonder how that works out with the stanag conversion. The x39 would be my pick, too.

The gas plug is interesting. I wonder how many options there will be for it.

Not to hijack the thread but on a related note, I've seen a couple mentions online that PSA is also debuting a new Soviet Arms steel cased ammo line at Shot 2023. Looks like 762x39, 762x54, and 545x39 to start with. Wonder if they'll eventually expand to Tokarev, Makarov, Nagant, etc if this stuff proves popular.

To the contrary of the haters (cm for one, God Rest His Soul), I've made a fair number of purchases from PSA and have never had a problem. As @Usmccookie stated above, I believe they have good intentions but for a period of time suffered from becoming more popular than they planned.
They used to outsource their parts and for the prices they were aiming at, got crap quality. Since then, they have moved a majority of manufacturing in house. Quality has gone up, prices stayed decent. But first impressions last

Just another reason to appreciate psa. I only have a mini 30 and a mosin. Nothing else in the caliber.

Say what you will about their quality. The more they do, the more good for everyone.

I've had several through the office.

This is a bring back from 84ID (Illinois National Guard). Haenel, made October 1944, Joe on Joe incident, Higher said no German guns, 1SGT passed out boxes to ship guns home. The STG44 and several pistols went home.

This is now in a museum where it belongs.

I doubt one will be in the budget for me but, still. It'll be really cool if people are able to run these at matches with period kit and generally thrash and enjoy them from a living history perspective. The originals are just so rare and insanely expensive, this is a good repro market because the originals aren't competing at all. I really hope they're a success for PSA.
