I believe her and her family for several reasons.

1 - They are not leftist politicians. In fact not any kind of politicians. That lends a lot of credence.
2 - Their actions are consistent with their words.
3 - They have nothing to gain by making false statements, in fact they are taking a big loss.
4 - Their statements can be verified by phone records, twitter data, emails records, etc.
