    No mention of the .38 New Police yet? A .38 that was actually .36-ish and the only reason it existed was Colt didn't want to use the name .38 S&W for the caliber in their revolvers.

    Yeah, it can get confusing, especially with the 9mm or .38, where there are so many variations.

    Isnt the 380 also known as a 9x17 and 9mm browning?

    I believe so.

    9x17 = 380
    9x18 = 9mm Makarav
    9x19 = 9mm Luger/9mm Parabellum
    9x21 = 9mm IMI
    9x23 = 9mm Largo
    9x25 = 9mm Super Auto G

    And despite all of those being "9mm", there is not a single bullet that would be suitable for loading in all of the cartridges.
