I have a 4 month old and a 5 year old plus the wife. We want to plan a day trip somewhere close enough by. We like to do pretty much anything and open for anything.

    Thanks.

Thanks I'll look into those. We have been to Hesston Steam Museum. It was really cool.

Edit: Looked at the Dunes rides. No kids under 1 year old. And the Deer park is permanently closed.

Thanks for the update. Kids are in their mid 30's and take the grandkid's for train rides. Hope I helped with a few ideas. :gotpics:

I have lived in Indiana for 41 years and never have seen a state with as many festivals as here. Party on. :rockwoot:

Elkhart County 4H Fair is going on now. Possitively huge. You could spend all of several days walking around.

    Fair Oaks Farms!!!!

Seriously. Take the dairy tour. Then the hog tour. They have outdoor play attractions for the kids. A bovine birthing-barn. AND there are two restaurants. Expensive food, even at the "grille", but it's VERY GOOD FOOD.

And the place is, overall, amazing. Both in size/scope AND their energy practices. Worth it!

Kentland Impact Crater...but you'll have to get in touch with the quarry to see what you can see.

Also...what Fat said above. The 4 mo old may not care too much about shock deformation structures in limestone.

I can second that Fairoaks is a cool place to visit. Went there for Father's Day with the in-laws and wife. Had a great time

Short notice but through a quirk of scheduling there is a double header (so to speak) of festivals in northeast Indiana this weekend. The following combination is available for your entertainment:

    The St. Joe PICKLE Festival

is being held concurrently with the

    Fort Wayne PRIDE Festival

We ended up going to the Michigan City zoo which was better than when we were there a few years ago. Then went to the Porter County fair to ride some rides and watch Demolition Derby before the crazy storm came through and high winds. Lucky we were already heading to our cars before the worst of it came down. That was all on last Sunday the 24th. On monday we went to Portage Beach and swam for a bit, then that night went to the Drive-in to watch Ice Age and Life of Pets. I liked Ice Age better than Life of Pets. Tuesday morning left for our friends house in Kentucky. Then went camping that thursday-saturday. Came home Saturday afternoon. Yesterday went to Rogers Lakewood and had a surprise party for my Mother in Law, and went paddle boating. Thanks for all the replies and suggestions.
