pc help: forgot admin account password

Two weeks ago I changed my password on my laptop, then I put it away. Today I got it out tried to get on it. I can't seem to remember the password that I changed it too. Best buy refuses to help me because I can't show ownership of the laptop. Can anyone help? I googled it but past the basics I'm as computer literate as my bed ridden 80 year old grandma.


It's an IBM lenovo x100e
It has a Windows 7 professional OS

I'd prefer if someone could do it for me as I am likely to accidentally set the damned thing on fire.

you will have to use something like an UBCD, and boot with the CD, create a new admin account and delete the old one, that is the easiest way.

It's a netbook. So it doesn't have a CD drive, I'm sure I can get my hands on a external one though

That's the tool you need. Unfortunately, it's not too user friendly for grandma's maybe read through it and ask questions.

I have that cd, it has been great. You can also put it on a USB drive and boot from that.
