Right so if it has non tomato based sauce, or tropical fruit on it, its not really pizza. In other words, as we all know.... just because it identifies as pizza doesn't make it pizza. lol

Green olives are good by themselves. Black olives are nasty. Neither belong on pizzaSame.
You gotta like them by themselves before you eat them with something else. Olives are icky.

I like a pizza with no tomato sauce, use garlic butter Instead, with pepperoni, sausage, and olives. Sometimes onions too.

I was with you until the end there.I think that since we have firmly established, by near unanimous consensus, that pineapple is a perfectly suitable pizza topping, it is time to move on.
I would put forth to this esteemed forum that the thing that makes pizza pizza, is the crust. It is the only part of it that is specifically named ”pizza”. There is pie crust, bread crust, and PIZZA crust. All other toppings just go by names like pepperoni, sausage, olives, pineapple, etc. they don’t have the name “pizza” in their description. That distinction only goes to the crust, pizza crust.
I am sure we can all agree on this and move on to more important things, like why mayo should never be eaten by anybody. And cheese. And tomato.
Pizza (English: /ˈpiːtsə/ PEET-sə, Italian: [ˈpittsa], Neapolitan: [ˈpittsə]) is a dish of Italian origin consisting of a usually round, flat base of leavened wheat-based dough topped with tomatoes, cheese, and often various other ingredients (such as various types of sausage, anchovies, mushrooms, onions, olives, vegetables, meat, ham, etc.), which is then baked at a high temperature, traditionally in a wood-fired oven.[1]I would put forth to this esteemed forum that the thing that makes pizza pizza, is the crust.
