I will continue to CC in these parks and take my chances, hardly ever see a cop in a park anyway.

IIRC Washington Park in Hendricks County is not part of Avon, it belongs to the township and as such is not covered by the Avon ordinance. Last time I was there I read the sign and it had nothing about firearms on it, I think that was in Dec.

It is managed by the Avon Parks and Recreation folks, so falls under their rules. See one the bottom of the other thread on this topic (where LibertyBear corrected my same assertion).

Yea I saw that and I am not a lawyer so I can't tell you what exactly that means if I am not hunting then.. On the other hand if your handgun is capable of hunting? Vague at best not sure about Fishers.
I know a guy who knows a guy, I think I'll dig on this one a little.

I really thought this list was going to be shorter. :(

Foolish person. ;) I'm afraid that there will likely be a lot more. You are doing a public service by helping to reveal the kind of junk that has developed over the years when people don't keep a close eye and participate in local government.

Yea I am positive there is more... Not sure what time I stoped yesterday but after getting all the ones from amlegal.com it got extremely difficult to find these ordinances. I will search for more later but I was "lost in the links" yesterday and I do not and will not use Bing and don't think it would have helped anyway. :D

    For Marion

No person shall possess or discharge any firearms, fireworks or other weapons within the parks without a permit from the Board.

What "Board" does this mean? the Park Board? ISP Board?

I really do not know for sure but my guess would be some board pertaining to the park or city of Marion. Marion was not the only one that had something like that wording and I am guessing that loophole is more for discharging fireworks rather than possession of firearms and weapons but you could give it a shot.

    Any plans yet?

Just curious if any of you plan of fighting to get these ordinances removed? If my town had one I would be on it like crazy but fortunately our laws and ordinances here in Brownsburg are sane at least in regards to firearms in public parks.

I would start by going to the next town hall meeting and bring as many people as you can. You might consider also getting a petition (hard copy) together and get as many signatures as possible and take that with you to the town hall meeting. I would also take a hard copy of the offending ordinance.

While it would not make since for me to attend your town meeting I can and will help you get signatures in any surrounding towns out here on the west side, Avon, Danville etc.
