I still keep my hand in some, but only have a small buffer now.

I do buy a lot of discs and sometimes I'll grab a good one, but with scrathes.

I keep a flannel wheel I've never used anything on but water as a compound that I use just for taking care of CDs and DVDs I find cheap.

Buffing plastic can get out of hand quickly, too, as you've probably discovered revamping mouthpieces.
I like the canton for most things, but for super fine, ultra shiny, I prefer the dommet.

I polished brass, rubber and plastic mouthpieces. I also ground the facing and stamped them.
Different plastics react differently. Some have lower melting temps and quickly overheat and distort.

    Most places don't give anything.
They have a long tradition of taking care of the employees. When my Dad died, the head guy sent me a handwritten note of condolence. It isn't what it used to be since it now a fortune 400 company, but some traditions remain. I mean I was there 34 years and worked hard for them.
