Yesterday I dug three holes for the plants I bought on that last plant search. Soaked the soil a few times, watering in all the bonemeal, bloodmeal and stuff.
Takes weeks to do much, but lasts for years.

What I have here is not even passable as garden soil!

Imagine the cheapest contractor backfill garbage, mostly clay with many up to egg size rocks thrown in to make a concrete starter.

I can't replace it all, but each new planting will have its own big happy quarters in which to thrive.

Tip of the hat to those overgrown perennials that have learned to thrive over the 20 yrs since this place was built. A lesson for me there.

Those plantings and some watering of subtropical delicates my daughter plants is all I have for an agenda today.
I know rain is coming but some sun before that.
    Water for the baby green.
